Fees and Schedule for Completing Applications, 2008-2009

For the 2009 admissions season we'll offer a contract based on applying to up to ten schools. We’ve found that some work, such as preparing a resume, is the same for a large number of schools; other work is most directly related to the number of applications. Variations in personal statements and diversity statements, supplemental essays, and administrative work are all linked to the number of applications.

Standard Contract -- 8 to 10 applications

This program assures you of several reasonable choices of law schools, as well as a few chances to “get lucky.” Together we’ll choose:

  • 2-3 safeties
  • 3-5 reasonable reaches
  • 3-5 longshots

With this range, we’ll expect you to wind up with 30% acceptances, 30% waitlists, and 40%  rejections.

The following limitations apply to all contracts:
  1. Clients may not apply to some schools on their own and others through this service. If a client submits any applications outside of my purview, I will be unable to speak to any admission officers on behalf of that client.

2. The determined fee does not include essays for scholarships, grants, or any other form of financial aid  This includes but is not limited to public interest, global law, and military education programs. The fees for these essays will be determined on a per-essay basis.

The fees for this service range from $1500 for disadvantaged minority applicants to as high as $5,000 for other applicants.  Fees are determined after a lengthy (1 to 2 hour) phone conversation. Other fees, including fees for late completion of work, scholarship essays of any sort, and applications over the agreed-upon number, will be assessed.  If you're interested, contact us to arrange a phone appointment.

Schedules for Completing Applications

Application schedules are determined by your contract date AND your LSAT date.  Clients who fail to meet these schedules will pay a fee for each week that the work is overdue, or will be moved to a later schedule, space permitting.  We will not be responsible for missed deadlines for clients who fail to complete the work as scheduled below.

No schedule will be expedited more than two weeks unless the client pays double the expedited fee for the remaining weeks.

Transfer applicants (July 1 or 15 completion) -- 5 students maximum

Most work will be completed in April and May.  Applicants with July 15 deadlines may complete some work in June.  Contracts signed after May 1 for July 1 deadlines or after May 7 for July 15 deadlines will incur a late fee.
