How on earth did we get that guy (third from left, white shirt) into Ohio State?!!!
Well first of all, I'd say it's because he always wears that smile. TJ is absolutely irrepressible! His energy is contagious, and part of his admission decision is the hope that he'll infect a few of his classmates with his exuberant desire to make the world a better place.
Secondly, it's because of his history of public service, not only during his Mormon mission, but in activities large and small since returning.
And last, but hardly least, is the nearly 4.0 GPA he brought with him, and the evidence it gives of his perseverance (persistence? relentlessness?) in achieving something he wants badly -- whether it's a good grade or a seat at Ohio State.

2011 Update: I think TJ has chosen the wrong
career. He and Lisa could make a lot more money
getting their baby into the film industry.
